While a third vaccination is already carried out in Salzburg in exceptional cases, nothing stands in the way of the general start of a new vaccination round, according to the State of Salzburg. So everything is prepared – you just wait for instructions from the federal government.
What not many people know: The third dose of the Covid vaccines is already being administered in Salzburg. For example, if you have a weak immune system, there is a higher risk that you will not develop very many antibodies after two vaccinations – in consultation with the vaccinator, a third bite can serve as an “antibody turbo”.
But also for the other Salzburg residents a new Covid vaccination will probably be due to refresh them from autumn. The federal government is still waiting for approval at European level, but in Salzburg we are already ready to go. So both organization and logistics are ready – now you just wait for the starting shot from the federal government, says health officer Christian Stöckl.
