Salzburg League – Anif leaves the relegation zone for the first time since October

The former two-time West League champion Anif recently spent twelve rounds in the relegation zone of the Salzburg League. Thanks to two wins under interim coach Fabian Tribl, the club has hope. With the 5-0 win against Henndorf, the team overtook Golling, which had already lost to Hallein in the derby before noon.

Little happened in the title race of Salzburg’s highest football league this Saturday: Kuchl quickly turned the early 0-1 lead and beat Eugendorf 3-1 in the duel between the league’s top scorers. While top clipper Hödl improved his record to 26 goals, guest man Mayr (15 goals) came away empty-handed. Meanwhile, pursuer Seekirchen gave bottom team Adnet no chance at all at 8-0. The new second in the shooting list is now Puchs Hölzl, who contributed two goals in the 4-2 win in Bürmoos and now has a total of 17. Wedding celebrations caused postponements Since Anif clearly defeated Henndorfer, who had been weakened in the basement, 5-0 (highest win of the season), Adnet is too mathematically as good as relegated. As of now, however, Golling would go down with his Tennengau rival. The Moric boys had little to do in the 3-0 defeat against Hallein’s youngest starting eleven of all time (22 years old), and slipped below the bottom line for the first time this year. The derby, like the duel between Bramberg and SAK (2-0), had already taken place at lunchtime. The reason on both sides: planned wedding celebrations caused the game to be brought forward. Hallein consolidated third place with the victory, in which the 17-year-old Schäfer made his debut in goal. Bramberg probably said goodbye to the relegation race for good. Sports director Walser said afterwards: “We don’t want to be satisfied with that, we want to take everything we can right to the end.” No wonder: thanks to the most recent three victories, they are suddenly sixth.Duo on an intensive search for a coachAfter parting ways with predecessor Berktold, Anif is under interim caretaker Tribl is still flawless. Perhaps Chairman Schnöll can announce a successor in the coming days. According to reports, Anif currently favors ex-professional Tom Eder, who is involved in the Grödig youth team. He is said to have recently turned down Henndorf as the sixth candidate. The Wallerseers are still looking for a trainer from the summer and have also contacted ex-Golling coach Schöberl.
