Salzburg League – Seekirchen remains on course after a test of patience

Seekirchen moved ahead in the title race in the Salzburg league with a 3-1 win in stoppage time against coach Lapkalo’s “ex”. Meanwhile, Hallein celebrated a clear derby success and in Straßwalchen there was a clean sheet.

The Seekirchner squirrel laboriously fed itself with former trainer SAK. The Nonntalers – ex-national player Junuzovic is still missing due to a thigh strain – kept the Flachgauers well in check. Just ex-Seekirchner Hager duped goalie Heuberger, who stayed out injured at the break – 1-0 (13th). Then ex-professional Neumayr struck: first with a handball after 64 seconds of play in the second half, then after the 2-1 after a controversial corner by Plakhtyria (90th) to make the final score 3-1 (92nd). “Maybe we’re putting too much pressure on ourselves,” mused Coach Lapkalo about the long-distance duel with Kuchl and the “test of patience.” His reward for the victory: A nice bike ride on Saturday to the triathlon course in Klagenfurt. “Results come by themselves at some point.” The Nonntalers, who are playing against relegation, saw themselves run out of luck, as they had against Kuchl the previous week. “In front of the goal to make it 2-0, your goalkeeper has to see red, he only gets yellow. There is no corner to the goal,” said deputy chairman Larionows. “But we can build on this performance against the top teams in the league. The results will come by themselves at some point.” At the same time, Hallein won 5-1 against Adnet in front of a good crowd. Returnee and ex-Seekirchner Wagner entered the shooting list twice. Adnet coach Perlak complained: “After 20 seconds we actually have to be leading, then we get three goals out of three chances. There’s just something missing.” But opposite Lessacher was also dissatisfied: “It was good for 30 minutes, then it wasn’t as desired.” The reunion ended goalless. Straßwalchen separated from Thalgau when he met up with ex-supervisor Jonjic (who still had the opponent in the fall trained) but goalless. Schörghofer had a great chance to win for the home team, but, like Kreuzer on the other side, he missed it in stoppage time. “A fair draw, nothing high-class,” summed up the home team’s sports director Chudoba. Jonjic thought: “We’re doing very well at the back with Jagic, but we haven’t managed anything forward.” The sticking point for him: Enzesberger’s injury before the break. “With him we had a little more peace. It’s good that nothing happened, we have to take the point with us.”
