Salzburg pulls away – 1:3! Weak powerplay becomes KAC’s undoing

Nothing came of the next deja vu in the fourth semi-final game! After a strong start from KAC and a 1-0 lead, Salzburg followed suit in the second period, leading 3-1 after 40 minutes – and ultimately winning 3-1. Also because KAC didn’t score in six outnumbered situations.

The first five minutes belonged to KAC, who played much more powerfully than on Sunday in Salzburg – Aabo, Petersen and Ticar became dangerous in front of Tolvanen’s goal. In the first majority game, Ganahl hit the puck with the best chance so far on the crossbar (7th). Salzburg weakened again with a second penalty, but the guests survived this without any problems and only fired the first shot at keeper Seb Dahm after 13 minutes. And then the red jackets still cheered: Samuel Witting scored the target after a Vallant shot in goal under (16th). After Paul Huber, alone in front of the KAC goal (18th), missed the chance to equalize, Ganahl and Haudum had a double chance in front of Tolvanen (19th) with the second goal at the racket. That’s how it goes with a well-deserved 1-0 lead at the break. Salzburg scores twice in the majorityAt the start of the second period, the damper comes straight away – after an unfortunate rebound, Bourke is suddenly there and hits the puck in the air in such a way that it flies past Dahm and into the goal (23′). Then there were two power plays for the guests. The first remained unused, in the second Salzburg took the lead. First, Nissner shoots at the post, Paul Huber misses the huge chance of an empty goal. But then Mario Huber shoots into the top right corner to make it 2-1. And Salzburg follow suit! In three against five, KAC lasted 1:33 minutes and even had the mega chance of the shorthander through Ganahl. But just as Zalewski rushed back onto the ice from the penalty box, Schneider scored to make it 3-1 for the guests. In the case of the red jackets, however, the majority game remained unrewarded. Postma slammed the disc with a majority from the backcourt (19′).Salzburg too clever in the final thirdSalzburg played cleverly in the final third and hardly gave the Klagenfurt team a chance at the back. Lessio and Unterweger (13th) had the best within a few seconds. Then the Rotjacken, who took the goalie out early, couldn’t convert the sixth (!) majority game of the evening into a goal. The final offensive without Dahm was also unsuccessful despite many attempts at the Salzburg goal. With a 3-1 win, Salzburg is also 3-1 up in the series and can close the sack on Sunday.
