Sam Dylan: This is how he sees his chances in "celebrity boxing"

Sam Dylan will box against Serkan Yavuz on Friday. You have been publicly insulting each other for months. In the interview, Dylan talks about the feud.

On Friday (September 25th) Sam Dylan (29) clears his conflict with "Bachelor in Paradise" participant Serkan Yavuz (27) in the ring at "Das große SAT.1 Promiboxen" with his fists. The 29-year-old has been with ex-"Bachelorette" participant Rafi Rachek (30) since the end of last year. He had previously had a dispute with Yavuz. Meanwhile, Dylan and Serkan Yavuz's girlfriend Carina Spack (24) shot against each other in public. A long conflict ensued between the couples on social media. The thick air should now be cleaned up in the boxing ring. In an interview with spot on news, Dylan talks about the feud and his motivation for the fight.

In the run-up to your fight, you and your opponent Serkan have been sharing on social media for weeks. What is your motivation for the duel?

Sam Dylan: Serkan challenged me and I won't say no. I can defend myself with my fists, not just with words! And I also get paid for the whole thing well – that's my motivation accordingly.

According to his own statement, Serkan trained almost daily for almost two months. What were your preparations like?

Dylan: I know, of course, that he trained for life and death. That was his life's work. I couldn't train that much due to other appointments. Of course, I'll still do my best to look good with fewer training sessions.

How important was your friend in the preparations for you?

Dylan: I'm a person who doesn't actually do any sport. Sport is murder to me. Rafi is the complete opposite. He is in the gym every day and is also a fitness trainer himself. He also showed me how to prepare. But because I'm not that kind of sportsman, of course I can't do it as well as he can. He motivates me a lot more by being by my side almost 24 hours a day.

Her best friend Georgina Fleur boxed against Jazzy from Tic Tac Toe in the ring back in 2013. Did you get any tips from her too?

Dylan: (laughs) Unfortunately Georgina lost the boxing match, so I don't know if she's the best person to give me advice. But I met her recently and she said, "Train a lot! Train a lot!" She didn't do that back then. She took it a little lightly. She also advised me not to drink champagne because that was too much.

Serkan made particularly tough declarations of war on social media. In a photo montage you were even seen in a wheelchair. Do you let something like that provoke you?

Dylan: I won't let myself be provoked. He has to know what he's doing himself. He has crossed a line one time or another. I have received messages in which people in wheelchairs said: "This is going too far. This is a show, but it not only offends me, but also people who cannot walk. But I think that he does Realized himself that he had made a big mistake and then deleted the photo.

You have suggested that Serkan might be into you. Was that meant seriously?

Dylan: Well what can I say? I don't look at his stories. I don't have time for that and I've also blocked it in the meantime. Of course at some point I had the feeling that his interest in me was very great. I don't know if he's just a fangirl or if it goes beyond that. I don't study Serkan, but Serkan makes Photoshop pictures with me. Then you have to work out how many hours a week he spends on me. This is definitely not normal.

You said several times that Serkan chose you because he was afraid of a "real opponent".

Dylan: I can judge myself well and I have no problem with saying: Okay, I may be the weaker part. It would be the same if I got into the ring against Rafi. Everyone would know that I would be the weaker part. Of course I do my best in the ring. But when I lose, I lose and when I win, that's great too.

Do you even believe in your victory?

Dylan: You always have to think positively and I motivate myself. You don't know what will happen that evening. It has more to do with tactics and how you feel that night. There is a lot to do with that. We are of course live and fight in front of an audience. That also affects everything in the fight. And sometimes the hit doesn't have to be harder than the other. It's also based on points.

So do you have a tactic?

Dylan: I definitely have a tactic, but if I gave it up, it wouldn't be a tactic anymore.
