Fitness apps are a dime a dozen – and now there are also interactive workout offers in the smart TV area – such as Apple Fitness+ or Zwift. What most of these offers lack is qualitative feedback for the hard-working athletes. Samsung has addressed this problem with its QLED 8K workout.
Because the one-sidedness of home training without any corrections by qualified trainers can not only lead to sore muscles in the wrong places, but also entail health risks due to incorrect loading.
The electronics manufacturer presented a revolutionary step forward in the field of digitally guided workouts at its Samsung Unbox & Discover event:
Anyone playing a fitness program on the new QLED models can record it on their smartphone at the same time and suddenly see themselves mirrored next to the training video.
Correct execution is checked by motion capture
But that’s not all: The training program uses a kind of digital motion-capturing system to record the user’s posture and provides direct feedback if exercises are performed incorrectly.
Although this ingenious technology cannot simply completely replace a competent personal trainer and their personalized feedback, the reference system via the smartphone camera is guaranteed to be a great step forward in the context of digitally enabled fitness efforts.
The new Neo QLED 8K TVs from Samsung can already be pre-ordered in Germany and are expected to be delivered soon. Incidentally, they come with a remote control that can be charged via WLAN.
