There is a lot of confusion around the Galaxy S22! Samsung had actually announced the new Exynos chipset, which is being developed in cooperation with AMD. There should be an event on January 11, 2022, but it simply did not take place. Samsung also deleted all teasers and the landing page for the processor on its own homepage. The manufacturer was unable to provide us with any information about the reasons for this – we have not yet received an answer from Samsung’s SoC department to our request.

The SoC in the Galaxy S22 should actually serve as a competitor for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and rely on a graphics chip with AMD RDNA 2 architecture. Now, of course, the question arises with which processor the flagship, which is planned for February, will appear. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is traded as an alternative online. This is obvious, since Samsung has already used Qualcomm’s processors for the S lineup in the past. A Snapdragon 888 is also used in the recently released Galaxy S21 FE.
What happened at Samsung?
Samsung fans as well as leakers are of course hotly discussing Samsung’s motivations online. So tweeted Ice Universethat he assumes internal problems at Samsung that could be deeper than initially thought. However, last-minute decisions could also have led to the Exynos 2200 being canceled. At the moment, however, one can only speculate about the exact reason.
Samsung postponed the release of Exynos2200. Since last year, the release of Samsung exynos has not been smooth. In fact, the Exynos 1200 was originally planned in November, but it was canceled halfway. It seems that many things happen inside Samsung LSI, but not a good thing.

The South Korean Leaker Dohyun Kim assumes that the Exynos SoC will not be used in the upcoming flagship. Much more, he suspects that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 should serve as the processor. Actually, Samsung’s in-house processor should serve as a competitor for the Snapdragon, but the failure of the idea could mean that you choose the competitor – at least for the time being. It is still possible that Samsung will use the Exynos 2200 for later models of the S22, but the signs are not good that we will be able to use the SoC for the release.
