Samsung deploys Galaxy S24 AI on older models, is your smartphone compatible?

The artificial intelligence of the Galaxy S24 will be deployed on other smartphones of the brand. Galaxy AI features will be available on selected models only.

Galaxy S23 FE

You who only swear by the range of Samsung Galaxy S, you may have hesitated to upgrade to the latest model when it was released last January, the Galaxy S24. Except that you have the one from last year, the S23, and that it bothers you a little to give it up. To decide the undecided, Samsung relied on what, at the time, was exclusive to the S24: Galaxy AIembedded artificial intelligence.

On paper, the functionalities offered by this AI are desirable. Summarize articles, translate an oral conversation in real time, launch a Google search on something displayed on the screen by circling it… The automatic transcription of meetings is also possible, even if the result is not yet perfect. Obviously, owners of older models feel wronged. The Korean manufacturer hears this and announces that Galaxy AI will arrive on other Galaxy. We knew which ones, but we didn’t know when.

We know the start date of Galaxy AI deployment on old Samsung smartphones

Let’s first remember that 9 devices will be entitled to Samsung’s AI, smartphones and tablets combined:

In a blog post, Samsung reveals the date when AI will start arriving on these models. It will take the form of a update of the OneUI overlay which will move to its version 6.1. For mobiles, it will be from March 28, 2024. Please note that not everyone will be able to benefit from AI at this time. Some will have to wait a few more days to receive the notification, and unfortunately it is not possible to predict who.

As for the S9 tablets, no specific date has been announced, but we won’t have to wait long. Samsung talks about a deployment “this week“, either between March 28 and 31, 2024. Note that 5G compatible versions will be served later, starting in April. As for the possible arrival of Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S22, the manufacturer says nothing.
