Samsung discreetly launches its very affordable Galaxy A03

In addition to the Galaxy A33 and A53, Samsung markets an even less expensive Galaxy A03. This smartphone, billed at € 159, is the most affordable proposal in the 2022 range of the South Korean giant.

This will not have escaped your notice: Samsung is multiplying the references of smartphones in the entry-level and mid-range market. If we know the Galaxy A53 and A33 in particular, the A series has at least one even more affordable model: the Galaxy A03. This smartphone is not the subject of a particular communication from the manufacturer, but has just appeared at various retailers. It is Galaxy’s most affordable model to date.

In terms of features, you should not expect too much from this device located at the base of the Galaxy A range, and still running Android 11. The Galaxy A03 sports a 6.5-inch screen (LCD) whose definition is limited to 720 x 1600 pixels, with a notch in the shape of a drop of water welcoming its front photo sensor (5 megapixels). In its 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1 mm case, Samsung integrates a chip that we haven’t had the opportunity to test, the Unisoc T606, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. Samsung also opts for a storage of 64 GB expandable through a microSD card. Let’s add to this set a 5000 mAh battery, in line with current terminals, but without fast charging. Samsung offers a 48-megapixel main sensor (f / 1.8 wide-angle) in photography combined with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Already available, the Galaxy A03 is charged €159, in a price range where smartphones are rare. It notably competes with Motorola’s Moto e40 (€149), which also uses a Unisoc chip and pleasantly surprised us during its test.
