Samsung Display unveils the first 77-inch QD-Oled panel

Samsung Display – a subsidiary of Samsung dedicated to the production of LCD and Oled screens – has just officially announced the arrival of a QD-Oled panel of 77 inches, or approximately 196 cm, which should equip televisions from the start of next year.

Until now, there were only 55 and 65 inch QD-Oled televisions, and this exclusively in the Sony catalog – the Bravia XR-55A95K, which we have already tested – and from Samsung – the S95B, whose test will be published. Monday. Things should change next year, since Samsung Display is taking advantage of the International Meeting on Information Display (IMID 2022) to officially unveil its first 77-inch QD-Oled panel.

No information is available at this stage, but it is assumed that this diagonal will be offered to television manufacturers by the end of the year for marketing in 2023. This panel would retain an Ultra HD 4K definition. Samsung Display will thus be able to directly compete with LG Display, which has been offering 77-inch Oled panels, but also Oled panels for 83-inch (211 cm) and even 97-inch (246 cm) televisions since this summer.

Samsung Display also markets a 34-inch UWQHD panel for monitors. For the moment, it is only available on the Alienware AW3423DW monitor, a model that we are still unable to test. This QD-Oled panel should also be found on the Samsung Odyssey G8 (G85SB) monitor, the release of which is unfortunately not planned before the very end of the year, or even the beginning of next year.
