With the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Samsung has introduced two new foldable smartphones.

Fresh foldable smartphones from Samsung: The company has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. According to Mario Winter, Vice President Marketing at Samsung Electronics, this new generation of folding smartphones will be “more robust, resilient and ready for the masses”.

The two smartphones are, among other things, protected against the ingress of water in accordance with the IPX8 standard and should therefore also be usable in the rain, for example. While the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G has an Amoled main display with 19.19 centimeters (7.6 inches), the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has 17.03 centimeters (6.7 inches). As the names suggest, the devices also offer support for the 5G cellular standard.

That’s what the new smartphones cost

The smartphones have been subjected to intensive folding tests by the certification company Bureau Veritas, which show that the devices can be folded more than 200,000 times. The Fold3 5G, which offers a 4,400 mAh battery, is also the first model in the series to be compatible with the S Pen. The Flip3 5G comes with a smaller 3,300 mAh battery.

While the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G will be delivered in the colors Phantom Black, Phantom Green and Phantom Silver, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G will be available in Cream, Green, Lavender, Phantom Black, Gray, White and Pink. The smartphones appear in different versions. The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G with 512 gigabytes of memory will cost 1,899 euros. The same model with 256 gigabytes is available for one hundred euros less. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G with 128 gigabytes of memory is now 1,049 euros and 1,099 euros for the variant with 256 gigabytes of memory. The devices will be available from August 27th.
