Samsung has released the first three models of the Galaxy A series 2024 with the Galaxy A05s, the A15 and the A25. We’ll tell you how the cell phones differ from each other.
Samsung’s Galaxy A series is popular. With the A05s, the A15 and A25, the manufacturer is now bringing the first 2024 models in the series onto the German market. The A05s is available now for 159 euros, the A25 will follow in January for 299 euros and the A15 is scheduled to go on sale in February for 199 euros. All three cell phones are priced in the lower middle class of smartphones.
But what exactly are the differences? As you can see from the price, Galaxy models with a higher number after the “A” offer better features – this applies not only to displays, but also to other components such as memory or processor. Let’s first look at the display.

Like the A15, the Galaxy A25 offers a 6.5-inch display; the screen of the affordable Galaxy A05s is slightly larger at 6.6 inches. However, you have to make do with an LCD panel for the cheapest model, whereas the other two A models have a Super AMOLED screen. The technology offers richer colors and better contrasts.
The Galaxy A25’s display can display images at up to 120 Hertz, the A15 has a maximum of 90 and the A05s 60 Hertz. In general, the higher the hertz number, the smoother the animations – for example when scrolling.
Processor and memory
Samsung uses different processors for all three models. The A05s uses the Qualcomm chip Snapdragon 680 – but in the 4G version. The new and faster 5G mobile communications standard is reserved for the A25 and A15. Here Samsung relies on its in-house processor Exynos 1280 or the Mediatek chip Dimensity 6100+. The A15 is also available in a 4G version, here the Mediatek Helio G99 acts as the processor.
While the A05s is only available with 64 gigabytes of memory, the other models are equipped with 128 gigabytes. In all three models, the memory can be expanded later using a microSD card. Only the A05s offers a dedicated slot for this. On the A25 and A15 you can use the second SIM slot for this, but then you have to forego dual SIM operation.

All three models have a triple camera on the back. Their main sensor has a resolution of 50 megapixels. There are differences in the other sensors. The A05s offers a depth sensor and a macro camera, both of which only have a resolution of two megapixels.
The A15 also offers a 2-megapixel macro camera, but instead of the depth gauge there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, which makes it easier to capture larger groups, for example. The A25 offers the same setup. Here the ultra wide-angle camera even has a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Conclusion
The Galaxy A05s is the weakest model in comparison. Given the lower surcharge of just under 40 euros, we would advise you to go straight for the A15. This not only offers more computing power and a better display, but also more memory.
The Galaxy A25 can meet higher demands, although we would advise you to wait before purchasing it. Samsung will probably soon expand the A series to include the A35 and A55 models, which should have a lot more to offer at a small additional price.
