If the Galaxy S23 are talked about a lot, it is indeed the Galaxy A range that will sell the most. The South Korean firm is particularly expected on the entry level, where it does not lack competition.
Renderings of the Galaxy A24 have already leaked online, but it’s now the technical sheet’s turn to reveal a good part of its secrets. It should be available in 4G and 5G versions, but it is the first that interests us today.
The mobile has indeed appeared on the site Geekbench under the name “Samsung SM-A245F”, which made it possible to know more about the material used. The set should run thanks to a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM, while previous rumors mentioned an Exynos 7904.
This octa-core chipset is content with 4G, but promises quite decent performance in multitasking. It is notably capable of supporting screen refresh rates of up to 120 Hz, a photo sensor of up to 108 megapixels and displays wifi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility. It scored 561 in single-core and 1947 in multi-core. It will obviously benefit from the latest refinements of Android 13 and the One UI 5.0 overlay.
Two distinct versions
According to the website The Tech Outlook, the Galaxy A24 4G should be equipped with a 6.4-inch Super Amoled screen in Full HD + (2340 x 1080 pixels), but the refresh rate is not specified. The leaked visuals hint at a slightly outdated teardrop notch. However, this is a nice move upmarket since the Galaxy A23 and A23 5G were content with LCD panels.
For the photo, Samsung would have opted for a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, we would have a 16 megapixel sensor. An LED flash accompanies everything.
Autonomy would be provided by a 4000 mAh battery, while the two models last year had 5000 mAh batteries. A surprising choice, which is perhaps explained by a desire to balance the costs, increased by the choice of an Amoled panel, necessarily more expensive. The smartphone, finally, would be available in four colors: black, red, green and silver.
Information about the 5G version should follow soon. We obviously expect a different SoC, but that could also be the case for the rest of the data sheet. The Galaxy Club site notably mentions a 5000 mAh battery and a 50 megapixel main sensor. We should be fixed on these differences in the weeks to come.
