Samsung Galaxy A34, A14 5G and A14 4G: the full A range arrives in France

Samsung is renewing its Galaxy A range, spearheaded by the Galaxy A54. The smartphone does not arrive alone, since it is accompanied by two other smartphones, the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A14, the second being offered in two versions, one 4G and the other 5G. This latest smartphone is not unknown to us, since it was made official at the beginning of the year in the United States, delivering its entire technical sheet, including a 6.6-inch Full HD screen at 90 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, its 4 GB of RAM and its triple photo module. Its price was still missing: therefore count 249 € for the 4 / 64 GB model and 299 € for its 4 / 128 GB version, for availability from this day.

The Galaxy A14 4G is a little more affordable, and makes some compromises compared to its counterpart. The smartphone is also equipped with a 6.6-inch Full HD (LCD) screen, but whose refresh rate is fixed at 60 Hz. 4G version requires, Samsung has opted for a less ambitious chip, the Helio G80 from MediaTek (view on… the Galaxy A32), and like the A14 offers expandable memory via a microSD card. Note that the A14 is equipped with a triple photo module, the main one of which includes a 50-megapixel sensor (f/1.8 wide-angle lens), the second a 5-megapixel sensor (ultra-wide-angle f/2 .4), and the third a 2 Mpx sensor (f / 2.4 macro optics). Finally, there is a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 15 W charging, and a 13 Mpx selfie sensor.

For this smartphone, which therefore ranks among the most affordable of the brand, Samsung charges 219 €. Note that the two smartphones, 4G or 5G, promise two years of software updates and four years of security patches. The other novelty of the moment, the Galaxy A34 5G, is entitled to four years of OS updates and five years of security patches.

Between the A14 and A54, a Galaxy A34 for less than 400 €

The Galaxy A34 turns out to be relatively similar to the Galaxy A54. It is indeed equipped, like the A54, with a Full HD + Amoled screen (120 Hz and with the brightness announced at 1000 cd / m²), but whose diagonal amounts to 6.6 inches. But while the A54 is entitled to a sensor for selfies hidden in a punch and a glass back, the A34 is satisfied with a notch in the shape of a drop of water and a rear face in polycarbonate, whose the design is similar to that of the Galaxy S23. It should be noted that this model offers IP67 certification which guarantees its water resistance. It also swaps the Exynos 1380 chip of the A54 against a MediaTek Dimensity 1080, flanked by 6 to 8 GB of RAM depending on the version, and storage of 128 to 256 GB, with a microSD port.

The Galaxy A34 also deviates from the A54 in the field of image capture. He is not entitled to the 32 Mpx sensor dedicated to selfies that includes his colleague, being satisfied with 13 megapixels. On the back, there is a triple photo block comprising modules of 48 Mpx (wide-angle f / 1.8), 8 Mpx (ultra wide-angle f / 2.2) and 5 Mpx (macro f / 2, 2). Finally, it has a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 25 W charging.

Promising a better quality screen than the Galaxy A33 5G and giving hope for improved performance, the Galaxy A34 announces a solid performance… but is however subject to a price increase. Unlike its elder, which cost €379 in its most affordable version, it is billed at least €399 (6 / 128 GB) and costs €469 in its 8 / 256 GB version.
