The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was officially presented at CES in Las Vegas. Here you can find out what you can look forward to in the latest Fan Edition and when it will be released.
- Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S21 FE at CES.
- Samsung has screwed on the battery, processor and camera for the fans.
- The S21 Fan Edition hits stores on January 11th.
Samsung has added another member to the S21 family at CES in Las Vegas and unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. The fan edition of the premium model appears in almost the same guise, but with hardware that has in some cases been significantly modified.
Perhaps the most striking difference between the Fan Edition and the standard model is obvious. At 6.4 inches, the S21 FE is larger than the 6.2-inch Galaxy S21 5G. Otherwise, Samsung has not “tweaked” the design formula. There will be four color versions: black, purple, green and white. The biggest changes are in the case.
Revamped hardware for the fans
Samsung chose a different chipset for the S21 FE and installed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 instead of the Exynos. This can work with either 6 or 8 gigabytes of RAM. A welcome change can be found in the battery. With 4,500 mAh, this is larger than the S21 5G.
However, fans also have to make compromises. Although the S21 FE is also equipped with a triple camera, it “only” includes two 12 megapixel sensors and an 8 megapixel telephoto lens. The S21 5G has a 64 megapixel main sensor.
Direct competition for the standard model
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE positions itself in close proximity to the standard model. If you value long battery life more than ultra-high image quality, the Fan Edition is a good alternative to the Galaxy S21.
