  • The release of the Galaxy S22 is scheduled for early February.
  • Depending on the region, it will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200.
  • A leak now reveals which variant appears in which region.

Samsung is making the final preparations for the release of the new Galaxy S22. This will probably take place in the second week of February and the anticipation of the fans is increasing from day to day. While a lot is already known about Samsung’s upcoming flagship, there are still a few things we don’t know. A leak now provides us with new information about the processors and their global distribution.

Because the Galaxy S22 should also be available again in a version with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and a version with Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 chipset. Which version you can buy depends on the region in which you live.

S22 only appears in a few regions with Exynos

Twitter user Dohyun Kim has now published a list of continents and processors, which reveals which S22 variant will appear in each world region. A large part of these will therefore receive the Snapdragon variant. However, the following regions will receive the variant with the Exynos 2200: West Asia, Central East Asia, Africa and Europe. In Germany, the S22 will also be available with the Exynos chip.

Now, of course, the question arises as to what the differences between the chips are and which of the two is better. In the past, Exynos processors have been a bit underperforming compared to Qualcomm’s competition, but that could change this year. Because Samsung is using a graphics unit developed in cooperation with AMD for the first time. However, the first benchmarks do not indicate any change.
