The Galaxy S23s may have been released recently, but they already benefit from updates aimed at improving the overall experience. Good news, which once again underlines the commitment of the South Korean firm to offer extensive monitoring of its products. The next should concern photo performance, according to the Android Police site.
Among the novelties, we note the arrival of a 2x digital zoom for portrait mode. The basic interface only offers portrait mode in x1 and x3 zoom. This requires switching between the 50MP sensor and the 10MP x3 telephoto lens (whose focal length is equivalent to 70mm). It is the latter which makes it possible to generate a blur of the background, assisted by an in-house treatment.
This new x2 zoom will always use the main sensor, by operating a digital zoom in the image in order to offer a rendering similar to 50 mm. Something to breathe a little more naturalness into the shots. The entire Galaxy S23 range is of course affected.
A revamped HDR mode
The leaker Ice Universe also poured out on the subject on his Twitter account. According to him, the update should also improve the HDR mode, the source of some problems. On the nocturnal shots, we could indeed see a vignetting effect appear on the periphery.
The update in question could be deployed in May, but no specific date has been communicated.
