The Galaxy S23s are now available, but that’s good the most talked about Ultra version. Launched at the very high price of €1,419 (in its 256 GB version), Samsung’s most premium model has serious advantages to claim.
If we believe that this is one of the most successful devices from South Korea, this has not prevented some users from encountering problems, and from sharing them on the web.
A worrying screen
The Galaxy S23 Ultra panel is one of the most successful on the market, but it seems to have given some first-time buyers a few scares. Internet users have indeed noticed that a kind of small bubble had formed in the lower right corner of the device. This did not appear to be an isolated incident, as all such returns pointed to the same area.
As the tweet below points out, this small formation is mostly visible in bright light. There is indeed a reflection that suggests a rather worrying bulge.
If you shine a strong light on the display, some parts may appear to be squashed/pressed, this happens because of the pressing process for waterproofing and dustproofing. This is not a product defect. Everything is fine with your phone. ^DT 2/2

Samsung has stepped up to reassure its customers. The brand clarified that it was not a material defect. Indeed, the phenomenon would in fact be due to the pressing process for waterproofing and dustproofing. A fundamental step to be able to display the famous IP68 certification.
According to the firm, this is a “natural” phenomenon that does not affect the lifespan or operation of the product. A plausible explanation, but not really reassuring. This kind of detail making a little stain on a smartphone sold at such a price.
A lack of photo stability
The Galaxy S23 Ultra promises mountains and wonders in photography, and it is clear that it delivers a very solid performance in this area. However, several users have reported concerns on this side, especially with regard to optical stabilization. As the name suggests, this feature allows for sharp photos and videos even when the device is in motion. It is therefore essential on a device of this caliber.
However, it seems that it does not work optimally for some users, who have reported their misadventures on the Sammobile site. The latter complain in particular about shots that lack precision, as if the image “was shaking“. In addition, opening the photo application would generate a rise in temperature of the smartphone. Resetting the Photo application sometimes solves the problem. On other mobiles, it is the transition to the new overlay OneUI 5.1 which would cause a noticeable drop in battery life.
We have not been affected by such problems, like the majority of individuals and professionals. Everything therefore suggests that it is a software bug, easily rectified via an update. Some owners of the very good Oppo Find X5 Pro (among others) had also noted similar stabilization difficulties when it was released. It is therefore not uncommon to observe these phenomena during the first month of marketing, even if the interested parties would do without them. Samsung seems in any case quite reactive on the subject.
