The futures Samsung Galaxy S24 would not necessarily have the same processors depending on the regions where they will be released.
Only two months left until the end of the year. Suffice to say that we are now not very far from an official release for the next flashhips from Samsung, which for the 2024 edition would like to make them official more quickly than in previous years. But if this decision should delight fans, the devices that will be offered to the public could disappoint some. Because the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor should not be for everyone!
Towards a return of Exynos?
Xiaomi recently released its new high-end Xiaomi 14, which had the particularity of being the very first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s powerful processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A processor which should especially be known to the public because of its appearance in the next Galaxy S24.
Except things shouldn’t be that simple. Indeed, on the occasion of the announcement of Qualcomm’s results during the third quarter of 2023, boss Cristian Renno Amon explained that Qualcomm should only have a “ majority share » in processor shipments for the Galaxy S24 series. An announcement which seems to indicate that another processor will be used in parallel by Samsung, surely the in-house Exynos chips.
The exception of the Galaxy S24 Ultra
Rumors already previously indicated that after a global release of the Galaxy S23 with a Qualcomm processor worldwide, Samsung would return to its traditional recipe. Thus, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could only be found in smartphones sold in North America, while Europe and other markets would be entitled to the Exynos 2400.
But even if this hypothesis tends to materialize, there would still remain a possibility for a European to benefit from the capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: buy the future Galaxy S24 Ultra. Because the most powerful version of the next series of phones should be released all over the world with the Qualcomm processor under the hood. A good enough reason to pay the maximum rate next January?
