The renewal of high-end tablets from Samsung will not be long in coming. The technical sheet of its Galaxy Tab S8 is becoming clearer, and includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra approaching
After opening the ball with its 2022 announcements with the Galaxy S21 FE, Samsung is preparing to unveil many other devices by the end of the first quarter. The Galaxy S22 series, in the field of smartphones, is thus firmly expected in February, although the South Korean manufacturer has not yet confirmed any official presentation date. Should follow, at the end of the same month, another range of products: tablets.
If we rely on the visuals and technical data sheets obtained by WinFuture, on the other side of the Rhine, Samsung should unveil three tablets at the Mobile World Congress, scheduled for the end of February in Barcelona. These Galaxy Tab S8, S8 + and S8 Ultra, positioned in the high-end segment, already deliver part of their technical sheet.
The first Samsung products under Snapdragon 8 Gen 1?
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra would therefore be Samsung’s largest tablet to date, with a 14.6-inch Super Amoled panel (2,960 x 1,848 pixels), well beyond the 12.7 inches of the Tab S8 + (Amoled , 2,800 x 1,752 pixels) and the 11 inches of the Tab S8 (2,560 x 1,600 pixels, this time in LCD). All would share a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform, flanked by 8 GB of RAM at least and 16 GB for the S8 Ultra version. Each model would have a microSD port, to complete 128 or 256 GB of storage (S8 and S8 +), or even 512 GB (S8 Ultra). These Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra would be powered by batteries with a capacity of 8,000, 10,090 and 11,200 mAh respectively. They would share a dorsal photo unit with two sensors (13 and 6 megapixels) and would benefit from a 12 megapixel module on the front; the Tab S8 Ultra would have a second of 12 megapixels.
According to WinFuture, these three tablets would be delivered, like the S7 series for that matter, with an S Pen stylus to be magnetized on their upper edge. They would of course work under Android 12, with the One UI 4 interface already at work on the latest Samsung products. While waiting for the release of these Galaxy Tab S8, S8 + and S8 Ultra, note that the manufacturer does not remain empty-handed: its Galaxy Tab A8 series has recently been available, and constitutes the brand’s “affordable” offer.
