From a purely technical point of view, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is somewhere between the upper and high-end classes. The performance, for example, is top, while the camera, while still good, is no longer quite at the top class level. In addition, the battery could last longer: In the test, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 ran for 8 hours and 41 minutes – that’s okay, but in case of doubt it’s not enough for a whole day.
The real highlight is not the inner values, but the obvious folding mechanism, which works great and makes the smartphone look a bit retro and futuristic at the same time.

“Samsung’s collapsible phone with a folding display, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G, impresses in the test with small but fine innovations. Samsung has given the minimalist additional display almost 2 inches on the outside. The main display scores with great colors, a fairly high brightness and, for the first time for a Samsung foldable, also with a high refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The performance is fantastic – but the battery life is more than disappointing. The IPX8 certification is fascinating, because Samsung has managed to make the Galaxy Flip 3 completely waterproof. The camera is better than its predecessor, but not at the high-end level by a long shot.
