There Galaxy Z Flip series will soon welcome a new heir: the Galaxy Z Flip6. Discover the first information about it without further delay.
On July 26, Samsung lifted the veil around its latest folding phones: the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. Six months later, the South Korean manufacturer unveiled its new high-end smartphones, the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, devices boosted with artificial intelligence. Finally, a few days ago, it was the turn of the latest mid-range smartphones to be released, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35.
For its next smartphones, Samsung should think big. Indeed, the giant should logically take advantage of the fervor of the Paris 2024 Olympics to unveil its future folding devices. In the meantime, here’s everything we know about the Galaxy Z Flip6!
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6: enhanced autonomy and AI on the program
The Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6 should be made official next summer, more precisely at the beginning of July. The first leaks around the Galaxy Z Flip6 already suggest some notable improvements, starting with increased battery life compared to the Galaxy Z Flip5. Indeed, Samsung’s new folding smartphone would abandon its 3,700 mAh battery in favor of a brand new 4,000 mAh battery.
If the Galaxy Z Flip6 will therefore be thicker than its predecessor, this will undoubtedly allow it to gain considerably in autonomy, one of the main weak points of the Z Flip.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy Z Flip6 will benefit from one of Samsung’s latest revolutions: Galaxy AI. This artificial intelligence, introduced on the Galaxy S24, has undoubtedly succeeded in convincing us. While Samsung has already confirmed that Galaxy AI will not land on smartphones released before 2023, owners of Galaxy S23, Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 will be able to benefit from it within a few days.
Although we should find most of the AI features introduced on the S24 (Chat Assit, Live Translate, Web Assistant, etc.), we can bet that the foldable format will inspire Samsung, which will then, we hope, incorporate some additional features based on artificial intelligence within its Z Flip6. In recent years, it has been clear that the range has struggled to renew itself in terms of software innovations.
A 50 MP sensor and a larger external screen for the Galaxy Z Flip6
According to rumors relayed by our colleagues at SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Flip6 would, like its predecessor, have a 6.9-inch main screen. However, the external screen should benefit from a slight increase in size, going from 3.4 inches to 3.9 inches. Like the Galaxy S24 Ultra, this one would feature Corning Gorilla Glass Armor treatment, which has largely proven its effectiveness against scratches and reflections.
Note that the hinge of the Z Flip6 has been improved with the aim of making the screen fold less visible and the smartphone more durable than its predecessors.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and will likely benefit from a better cooling system. However, one of the main improvements of the Galaxy Z Flip6 should concern the camera. Indeed, the latter would finally swap its main 12 megapixel sensor for another, more efficient one of 50 megapixels. The selfie sensor should, however, retain a resolution of 12 megapixels. Let’s now hope that Samsung will not once again ignore the telephoto lens for its next folding smartphone.
Galaxy Z Flip6: price, software tracking and availability
For the first time, Samsung would no longer limit its flexible devices to 8 GB of RAM. Indeed, the South Korean could, according to information shared by TheGalox (via X.com), market a variant powered by 12 GB of RAM. The Galaxy Z Flip6 should be marketed between July and August at a starting price of 1,199 euros. No less than two storage variants should be offered for sale (256 GB and 512 GB) in four different colors (light blue, light green, silver and yellow).
Good news: Samsung should considerably improve its software tracking by offering more than seven years of updates to its Galaxy Z Flip6. Obviously, this will be directly delivered with the latest version of One UI 6, Samsung’s in-house overlay for Android 14.

The Flip range deserves to move up a gear and finally benefit from Samsung’s latest innovations in photography and video. Limiting the ultra-wide-angle sensor to Full HD video at 30 fps in 2023 is almost criminal!
