Good news for Samsung Galaxy owners: As the company announced, the smartphones will be equipped with a new flash memory in the future, which should ensure significantly more speed for the devices.
Samsung devices are likely to experience a significant performance boost in the future. The company recently introduced version 4.0 of its Universal Flash Storage (UFS). UFS is used in smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
UFS 4.0 will offer a bandwidth of up to 23 gigabits per second per lane. That is twice as much as the predecessor UFS 3.1. The sequential read speed is increased to 4,200 megabytes per second and the sequential write speed to 2,800 megabytes per second.

Update at Samsung: Production will start later this year
Efficiency has been increased by 46 percent compared to its predecessor. This means that the batteries should last longer with better performance. The maximum capacity will be one terabyte.
Production of the new memory is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of this year. The first devices with it could therefore be the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 as well as the upcoming Galaxy S23 models.
