Did you already find them expensive? Samsung is expected to further increase the price of its folding smartphones this year. However, few new features are expected on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 should be officially presented in about a month by Samsung. Various leaks have already given us a good overview of their design and their technical sheet, and now their respective prices are being revealed to us a little in advance.
And the news is not good. According to information from Smartprixin collaboration with the renowned leaker OnLeaks, the price of Samsung folding smartphones should increase with the next generation.
Price increase in sight for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to see a $100 price jump across all storage configurations in the US:
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 (256 GB): $1,899.99
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 (512 GB): $2,019.99
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 (1TB): $2,259.99
Same observation for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, each version seeing its price also increase by 100 USD compared to the Z Flip 5:
- Galaxy Z Flip 6 (256 GB): $1,099.99
- Galaxy Z Flip 6 (512 GB): $1,219.99
It is likely that Samsung will also apply a price increase on these products in Europe. When prices rise in the United States, the brand tends to convert to euros and then add the VAT amount. Sometimes prices rise in Europe and remain stable across the Atlantic because of the balance of power between the dollar and the euro, but the opposite is rarely true.
According to the same report, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come in navy blue, gray and pink colors. The Galaxy Z Flip will be available in mint green, gray, yellow and blue. The Fold format mobile will lose a little weight, dropping from 253 to 239 grams. The Flip will remain at 187 grams.
The screen diagonal of the Z Fold 6 should reach 7.6 inches, while that of the Z Flip 6 would be 6.7 inches. It is especially the external displays that should improve on these new models, but we do not expect very big changes this year. Making the price increase difficult to swallow.
