For a few years now, we have been talking about a merger between Samsung and Tesla.

Recently, the Korean giant wanted to confirm the rumours, contenting itself, however, with indicating that the two groups were indeed in discussion.

Samsung in Teslas?

Indeed, not content with equipping many smartphones with OLED panels, the Korean Samsung can also be found on board our cars. The Samsung Electro-Mechanics division would thus be in discussion with the American Tesla to integrate not screens, but cameras on board. Tesla vehicles are indeed full of cameras and other sensors, which have recently made it possible to map the road surface, in order to automatically adapt the suspensions accordingly.

Remember that Samsung has been offering a first camera module for cars for a few months now: Auto 4 AC. In all likelihood, this Samsung / Tesla collaboration should materialize on board the future Cybertruck, expected somewhere in 2023. We could thus find Samsung cameras on board Tesla’s electric pickup.

According to various rumors, Samsung would have concluded an agreement of more than 430 million dollars with the manufacturer, ahead of its compatriot LG, even if the latter has never confirmed any attempt at rapprochement. It now remains to wait to discover the first Tesla models with Samsung Electro-Mechanics technology.
