Samsung is currently untouchable when it comes to folding phones. The South Korean company dominates the market with its fold and flip smartphones. Oppo has already dabbled in a model that has garnered a lot of buzz, and now it’s set to follow up with two new folding phones.
Oppo is working on two new folding phones
With the Oppo Find N, the Chinese company caused a lot of excitement at the end of 2021. In contrast to Samsung’s Fold model, the relatively compact folding cell phone offers a much more normal form factor. Now it has become known that Oppo wants to adopt Samsung’s strategy. Accordingly, the Chinese company is planning a successor to the Find N, which should become an alternative to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The step seems logical, because Samsung dominates the foldable cell phone market by 88 percent and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the best-selling. The reasons for this are obvious. It’s a lot cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and offers the well-known form factor of a regular phone. You only have the option to fold it up and save space during transport. So it makes perfect sense for Oppo to build a smartphone like this now.

The Oppo Find N was presented at the end of 2021. So it would be fitting if the Chinese manufacturer’s new folding phones were unveiled at the end of 2022. But one question remains: are the new Oppo cell phones coming to Germany? The Oppo Find N cannot be bought here. That’s a shame because it would have been a strong alternative to Samsung. The folding cell phone market is currently completely in Samsung’s hands, so a little more competition would certainly do us good.
