Samsung launches an AI-powered app that makes meal planning and preparation easier

Samsung has formalized Samsung Food, a platform designed to help you prepare personalized recipes, but also to plan your meals. Compatible with many of the brand’s household appliances, Samsung Food promises to be the assistant, thanks to artificial intelligence.

Samsung Food is an application dedicated to cooking and health offered in 104 countries and in eight languages, including French. The application draws from a directory of 160,000 recipes to help users “discover new dishes, create tailor-made meal plans or even order ingredients online”. Better still, the service will soon make it possible to centralize the control of connected devices such as the Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus presented at CES 2022. The application obviously includes a social component and allows you to “share your favorite recipes on social networks” .

The integration of AI into its household appliance product lines began after the acquisition of the Whisk application in 2019. In addition to getting its hands on a huge database of culinary recipes, the acquisition also made it possible to appropriate Food AI, an AI that “suggests meals based on user preferences and seasonal foods. Users can, for example, convert a recipe to a vegetarian version or make changes to create “a more nutritionally balanced recipe, create fusion recipes, such as Korean versions of Italian dishes, or adjust the ease level of recipes “.

Ultimately, Samsung Food will thus constitute the missing link between smartphones and home appliances the company. Users can already save recipes from any connected device, from smartphone to fridge to tablet, after which the app analyzes recipes, standardizes their format and organizes them to create shopping lists depending on the ingredients.

In the near future, Samsung Health will be directly integrated into Food, allowing users to better manage their diet. “The seamless synchronization of information such as BMI, body composition and calorie consumption with Samsung Food will help users achieve their health goals and maintain a balanced diet.
