Samsung launches its Galaxy Book2 and returns in force to the French PC market

The South Korean manufacturer finally signs its return to the market for laptops
in France with its new range of Samsung Galaxy Book2. At the same time, it further strengthens its ecosystem, while Samsung Galaxy S22
just came out.

At MWC 2022, Samsung launched no less than four powerful new portable PCs, built for mobility.

Samsung returns to France with its Galaxy Book2 PCs

Samsung’s new range of laptops is split into two. First, the Galaxy Book2 and Galaxy Book2 Pro, thin and powerful. Thus, the Pro model in 13.3-inch format is only 11.2 mm thick and weighs 870 grams. Second, the Galaxy Book2 360 and Galaxy Book2 Pro 360, equipped with a touch screen compatible with the S-Pen.

Equipped with the latest 12th generation Intel Core processors, powerful but economical, they are made for nomadic teleworkers. Indeed, the South Korean manufacturer promises up to 21 hours of battery life, with a 65 W fast charge. Thus, 30 minutes of charging would recover 8 hours of battery life.

Heavy users of videoconferencing software will also be able to take advantage of the excellent connectivity of the Galaxy Book2 range, compatible with Wi-Fi 6E and 5G networks, as well as its 1080p camera with an 87° capture angle. Boosted with artificial intelligence, it embeds a Studio mode.

The latter offers an automatic framing feature to zoom and follow the subject, without the user having to intervene. New background effects and filters are also part of the adventure. As for the sound, it is not set aside. Indeed, the AI ​​allows intelligent two-way noise cancellation for your interlocutors.

And for you, the system Smart Amp, with a maximum power of 5 W, produces balanced sound, even at high volume. The speakers benefit from AKG signature sound and are compatible with Dolby Atmos technology. Enough to also enjoy beautiful films, through its 13.3 or 15.6 inch AMOLED screen, as desired.

Samsung security and ecosystem

The Samsung Galaxy Book2, equipped with Windows 11, meet the standard Secured-core PC from Microsoft. Indeed, they benefit from several layers of protection, whether on the software or hardware side, but also on the side of your biometric information which is isolated.

For example, the fingerprint sensor stores the user’s fingerprint on a dedicated chip, isolated from the rest of the system, in order to more effectively protect this information. And for sharing sensitive documents, Private Share (used on smartphones and tablets) has been ported to PC.

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 are also a major brick brought to the Galaxy ecosystem. For example, the Your Phone application allows you to receive calls and SMS directly on your Galaxy Book2 computer rather than on your Samsung smartphone. As for Galaxy Book Experience, it allows you to run your favorite Samsung applications on your Windows PC.

In short, the user can work on his Samsung smartphone, then resume work on his Galaxy Book2, and vice versa. And good news for the heads in the air: it is possible to find your Galaxy Book2 PC in the same way as a lost Android smartphone!

Price and availability

The four models of the Samsung Galaxy Book2 range will be available in France from 1^er April in an anthracite color and in an exclusive Bordeaux color for the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360.

An introductory offer, until May 15, will allow you to obtain a pair of Galaxy Buds Pro wireless headphones for free, regardless of the laptop chosen.

Let’s start with the touch models. The Samsung GalaxyBook2 Pro 360 will be available in 13.3 or 15.6-inch formats, with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

As for the Galaxy Book2 360, it will be available only in 13.3-inch format, with an Intel Core i7 processor coupled with 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage memory.

Now let’s move on to the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, which may be available in 13.3 or 15.6 inch formats, with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. However, the 13.3-inch format will also be available with an i5 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space.

Finally, the Galaxy Book2 will be offered exclusively in the 15.3-inch format, with three possible configurations:

• an Intel Core i7 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space
• an Intel Core i7 processor coupled with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of disk space
• an Intel Core i5 processor coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage

Pricing in France has not been announced, but the presentation hinted at dollar pricing for the two specific configurations above.
