Samsung launches its Galaxy Book4 equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors


It is now a tradition, Samsung markets new Galaxy Book PCs every year. With this fourth generation of laptops, the Korean giant is not changing the formula we know, but is however changing the components integrated into the five models announced this week at MWC. On the menu, the appearance of Core Ultra processors, the latest generation of mobile processors from Intel. Samsung is banking on the increased performance of these new Meteor Lake chips, but also and above all on their NPU to seriously boost the capabilities of its new PCs in the field of artificial intelligence, the darling of the PC market at the start of 2024 .

In detail, Samsung structures its offering more or less like last year, with a very high-end model, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra, which is the only one to be able to boast a dedicated graphics card (Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 or RTX 4070). Then come the Galaxy Book4 Pro (available this year in 14 and 16 inches), the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book4 360 (convertible into a tablet thanks to their rotating touch screen, and delivered with S-Pen stylus), followed by the Galaxy Book4 “classic”.

Oled on all levels and Core Ultras in shambles

Samsung is banking on an Amoled display for all of its new Galaxy Book4s. The Galaxy Book4 Pro can thus count on a 2.8K organic panel (2880 x 1800 pixels) capable of dynamically oscillating between 48 and 120 Hz depending on the context of use, but also of fully covering the color space DCI-P3. Features that are also found on the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book4 Ultra. The Galaxy Book4 360 is limited to an Amoled Full HD panel (1920 x 1080 pixels), while the Galaxy Book4 is limited to an IPS panel to ensure a low price.

In terms of performance, and as mentioned above, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra has up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, coupled with 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and an RTX 4070. The Pro and Pro 360 models can be upgraded. equip with a maximum of a Core Ultra 7 155H supported by 16 GB of LPDDR5X, while the Galaxy Book4 and Galaxy Book4 360 are at best satisfied with a Core 7 150U, more modest, and a maximum of 16 GB of RAM .

Available today in France, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra has a starting price of €3,499, compared to €1,999 for the 14-inch Galaxy Book4 Pro and €2,099 for the 16-inch Galaxy Book4 Pro. The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book4 360 are priced at €2,199 and €1,799 respectively on the official Samsung France website, while the small “classic” Galaxy Book4 arrives on the market starting at €949 in Core 5 version. , with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD.
