The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show was an opportunity for Acer to unveil its latest range of products, with Swift laptops and a set of PC monitors.

A very very wide screen

The spotlight is particularly focused on the monumental Predator Z57, a screen with a pretty crazy technical sheet.

The Acer Predator Z57 PC monitor is a monster of technology. At 57 inches diagonal, this curved screen is one of the largest available on the market.

The definition Dual UHD (7680 x 2160 pixels) should offer good clarity, comparable to that of two juxtaposed 4K screens. Technology Mini LEDfor its part, allows you to reach peaks of brightness with 1000 nits, ensuring, in passing, better contrast than classic LED and an extended color range.

By choosing Mini-LED, the brand also ensures that it has revised the number of its local dimming zones for less blooming around the light elements. It is on this technical specificity that LCD screens try to stand out by wanting to approach the performance of Oled.

In terms of performance, the 120 Hz refresh rate is an asset for gamers. The HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort ports are of course required to accompany these high-end features. Finally, Acer is doing as well as Samsung now. However, Samsung offers 240 Hz.

It’s not just this huge screen. The Predator X34 V3 is designed for those looking for superior image quality and an ultra-wide format, but not as wide as the Predator Z57.

Using Mini LED technology in a 21:9 format, this screen offers very wide QHD definition, ideal for tasks requiring a large work space (two windows side by side) or for a more immersive gaming experience. The high refresh rate of 180Hz is OK for demanding gamers.
