Samsung OneUI 5.1, an update to accompany the Galaxy S23 series?

Samsung has shown itself in recent weeks as the manufacturer most eager to deploy updates. Its One UI 5.0 interface, based on Android 13, is already available on a wide range of terminals, from its Galaxy A53 to its Galaxy S22 series, including certain M models. But the next Korean smartphones expected on the market are none other than the Galaxy S23, whose formalization is expected at the beginning of next February.

If we are to believe the elements observed by SamMobile, Samsung is already testing a new software version. Called One UI 5.1, it should be implemented immediately on the Galaxy S23 series, before being deployed a few days later on the Galaxy S22. the firmware observed on the Korean servers bears the reference “S90xEXXU2CVL7”, and is currently associated with the series of high-end smartphones launched in early 2022.

The novelties brought by One UI 5.1 have yet to be specified, but it is likely that they will focus on customization possibilities, in particular on the addition of widgets on the lock screen of smartphones. Minor additions which, however, testify to the efforts made by Samsung, on the sidelines of its commitments in terms of operating system updates (four years for its mid-range and high-end models) and security patches (five years), in order to build customer loyalty by demonstrating its involvement in its in-house interface.
