Samsung QN100B: Is this the best 4K TV ever?

SAMSUNG

With the Samsung QN100B, a superlative 4K television is on the way. In addition to peak brightness in the record range, the huge TV has other sensations in store.

  • With the QN100B, Samsung is presenting its brightest and probably best 4K television to date.
  • The market entry price for the record TV in Korea is the equivalent of 33,000 euros.
  • A release of the QN100B on the German market has not yet been announced.

While Korean competitor LG is building the largest OLED television of all time for its first presentation in Germany at IFA 2022 and is already announcing a market launch, TV world market leader Samsung is also chasing records: With the QN100B, a 4K QLED television has now been presented, which promises out-of-this-world performance.

Samsung QN100B: The world’s brightest 4K TV

With a peak brightness of 5,000 NITS, the QLED television is around five times the maximum value of common OLED representatives thanks to the mini-LED backlight. There is also a 6.4.4 sound system that, with 120 watts of power and Dolby Atmos, brings significantly more sound into the room than some soundbars.

The radiant brightness of Samsung’s new top model, which will be launched on the Korean market under the identifier KQ98QNB100 and will also be launched as QN98QN100B for the US market, extends over a display diagonal of 2.5 meters. The screen unit is a few centimeters larger than the world’s largest OLED LG 97G2, which will soon be available internationally.

Outrageously expensive and not yet planned for Germany

However, the new Samsung special model is not yet planned for Germany and, like the record model from LG, would hardly be suitable for the mass market: while the record-sized G2 from LG is said to cost a horrendous 25,000 euros, the QN100B from Samsung even goes well with it 45 million won starting price on the Korean market, which is more than 33,000 euros.
