Samsung relies on NFT for the Ambient Mode of its TVs

The NFT platform Nifty Gateway becomes a partner of Samsung for the display of NFT on the brand’s televisions, in particular within the framework of the Ambient Mode which makes it possible to display works of art.

Earlier this year, at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Samsung paved the way for the arrival of NFTs on its televisions. Today, the brand announces a partnership with the NFT Nifty Gateway platform, providing for the technical integration of the platform into its products.

It will therefore be possible to “search, buy, view and interact with NFTs” directly from his television, namely the models of the manufacturer’s 2022 range, including the Qled and Neo Qled. A Nifty Gateway application is also planned on the Samsung The Frame ranges, as well as on televisions equipped with a micro-led panel.

Ambient Energy Consuming Mode

In practice, the NFTs will make it possible to expand its library of works of art, fixed or animated, displayable within the framework of the Ambient Mode of the television sets. This mode allows you to use your television as an interactive setting. Via NFTs, Samsung TV users will therefore be able to take pride in exhibiting digital works of which they hold the title deed. Small technical clarification from Samsung: the televisions will be able “to optimize their settings to offer a graphic rendering as close as possible to the initial intentions of the artists”.

We take this opportunity to inform you of the publication on Digital, in June 2018, of tests carried out in our laboratories concerning the power consumption of Samsung Qled 2018 televisions in Ambient Mode. That is 100 to 140 W consumed for a relatively useless use, even more at a time of ecological emergency and energy crisis.
