Samsung reportedly has big plans for its Galaxy Buds 3

Expected in June at the end of the next Galaxy Unpacked conference, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro could evolve significantly compared to their respective predecessors. We learn in particular that a design change would be on the program, as well as improvements on the strictly audio level.

In parallel with new laptops, new connected devices and potentially also its Galaxy Ring, Samsung should take advantage of the next Galaxy Unpacked (scheduled for July 10 in Paris) to unveil new Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro. According to information shared by a specialized Korean media, these new models would change significantly compared to the Galaxy Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro… which would ultimately be nothing surprising. And for good reason, these were launched in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

We thus learn that for its new wireless headphones, Samsung would be banking on both a new design and notable audio improvements. The firm would notably abandon the “bean” shape of its old models for a different design, supposed to “ significantly improve » their ANC (active noise reduction) and sound quality.

Towards a look closer to that of AirPods?

In detail, Samsung could draw inspiration from the design of Apple AirPods for its new Galaxy Buds 3 / Buds 3 Pro. The idea would be in particular to adopt a “stem” shape allowing the microphone to be brought closer to the user’s mouth, in order to also improve the quality of telephone calls. Due to their bean shape, the brand’s old headphones were less effective than those of the competition. So that could change.

We finally learn that the new Buds 3 would rely on new features linked to AI. These new functions would, however, have the disadvantage of inducing increased energy consumption. The anticipated design change for these new headphones would therefore also be justified by the need to integrate larger batteries.

It will be noted, however, that this change inform-factorcould harm the compactness which partly contributed to the success of the Galaxy Buds 2 / Buds 2 Pro in their time. If this design change is confirmed, and the compactness is indeed reduced, there is no doubt that Samsung will have to counterbalance this change with a real improvement in the experience offered.
