According to Samsung, the three main functions for securing the card are combined in one chip, which should maximize security. The new Samsung fingerprint IC (Integrated Circuit) combines these functions:
- The reading of biometric data by the fingerprint sensor.
- A secured Secure Element stores and authenticates encrypted data.
- A secure processor analyzes and processes this data.
According to Samsung, this technology should meet Mastercard security standards. In addition to using it for bank cards, Samsung sees even more potential uses for this technology.
