Battery-free small devices that are charged via tiny solar cells? Actually cold coffee. New Samsung remote charges battery via WiFi
The new Solar Cell Remote from 2022 should not only have the classic solar panels and also be able to charge them via dim room light: According to the manufacturer, the new TV remote control can also use the home WLAN to recharge the integrated battery.
To do this, the remote control converts radio signals into energy and uses the 2.4 gigahertz frequency of the router, which is otherwise mainly used by smart devices in the so-called “Internet of Things” to communicate.
To be even more sustainable, the remote control, like the Galaxy S22, is sometimes made from recycled plastics fished from the sea.
