Of all the projectors on the market, some stand out because of their shape. This also includes “The Freestyle” from Samsung. Touted by the manufacturer as a flexible projection option, it is noticeable that the projector could easily be a ceiling spotlight without the small connections and air holes. Depending on the distance, the projector projects content in Full HD onto a maximum area of 100 inches. It does this with 550 lumens. This means that “The Freestyle” offered here has the same technical details as the previous model. We looked at this in a short test with comments about the current model.
The “all-round design” has also remained the same, which reminds us of the ceiling spotlight. The advantage of the whole thing is the 180 degree adjustable projection angle. According to our tester, the image quality is okay, especially considering the size. However, the projector is not particularly bright, so we recommend darkening the room. A screen improves the image quality.
What’s new in this version is the ability to access the command centers called “Smart Hub” and “Game Hub”. Samsung also likes to talk about a “smart TV experience” here. This is also a perfect addition, as there are only one micro HDMI input and one USB-C port.
