Samsung Unpacked 2023: what to expect?

After a first Galaxy Unpacked at the start of the year, Samsung is preparing to return for a second iteration.

Next week, more precisely on July 26 at 1 p.m. (Paris time), Samsung will hold its traditional Galaxy Unpacked summer conference. A moment particularly awaited by fans of the Korean brand, who will inevitably take advantage of this opportunity to lift the veil on a large number of products. And as the event approaches, you can legitimately wonder about the possible announcements that are expected there.

Folding smartphones and connected watches: the stars of the Galaxy Unpacked?

Next Wednesday, the spotlight will mainly be on Samsung’s future folding smartphone iterations, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5. In this field, the manufacturer is more than ever expected at the turn after the presentation of the Magic Honor V2 and the imminent announcement of the first foldable device from OnePlus. In addition, note that this year also marked the arrival of Google in this market with its Pixel Fold. The numerous leaks nevertheless lead us to believe that Samsung’s next folding devices should be in line with their predecessor, except, perhaps, with regard to their price…

One of the other stars to fly over the floor of the Galaxy Unpacked, which will be held in Seoul, will of course be the Galaxy Watch 6. The first images that have leaked on the Web suggest the return of the famous rotating bezel, which had then been abandoned on the Galaxy Watch 5. at 499.99 euros.

A new Galaxy Tab… and some surprises?

Among the other announcements expected during this event is Samsung’s next high-end touchscreen tablet. The Galaxy Tab S9 should once again be available in three iterations (the S9, S9 Plus and S9 Ultra models) and would feature a Snapdragon Gen 2 SoC. In a previous leak (to change), we discovered that the future tablet could be more efficient than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. We can also prepare for Samsung to dwell somewhat on new versions of its Android-based operating systems.

While that seems highly unlikely (unlike everything discussed earlier in this article), Samsung could follow Apple’s lead and give us a first look at its plans for mixed reality. Last February, we just learned that the Korean had signed an agreement with Google and Qualcomm. The opportunity to reveal a little more? Obviously, we will have to wait a few more days to find out.
