Samsung has announced the worldwide launch of its new series of Smart Monitor TVs: the M5, M7 and M8 are back in new and improved versions.
For a few years, Samsung has been making a rather original proposal on the principle: computer screens that integrate a connected TV system to take advantage of its programs and applications.
All Samsung Smart Monitors from 2023
There are three versions of this screen. clever each in two different sizes, which gives us:

- The SmartMonitor M7:
- The SmartMonitor M8:
As for the colors, they differ according to the versions. The M8 is available in white, blue, pink and green. Its little brother the M7 is only sold in white while the younger is marketed in white and black.
Discreet but present improvements
On the display part, the two most expensive models offer UHD definition: up to 400 cd/m² for the M8 (in addition to HDR10+), up to 300 cd/m² for the M7. The M5 is limited to Full HD.
Samsung obviously puts more forward its advanced products, the M8 and M7. Both displays offer 99% color coverage of sRGB. The manufacturer specifies that the thickness of these screens is 11.39 mm minimum. Moreover, only the M8 allows you to adjust the angle of the slab, but also its height. You can even rotate it 90° if you prefer.
Entertainment and productivity: the philosophy of Smart Monitors
On the operating system side, you can do cloud gaming thanks to the Samsung Gaming Hub. Unfortunately, the 60Hz refresh rate is still on point. But beyond that, you can of course access all video streaming platforms: Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube.
Samsung also intends to take care of the productivity functions of its screens by indicating that ” mouse and keyboard control functionality has been added to many apps, including SmartThings and Smart Hub. » The control of connected objects is also improved: the Smart Monitor M8 is now a Zigbee hub and supports the Thread protocol. In addition to that, the M7 and M8 directly integrate Bixby and Amazon Alexa, thanks in particular to an integrated microphone.
Finally, a function called ” My content was added: she allows users to quickly access useful information “. You can indeed connect your smartphone to the screen to display certain things: photos, weather and other information, when you pass by the screen.
A priori, the Samsung Smart Monitor M5, M7 and M8 of 2023 are expected for the month of June worldwide. For the moment, the French prices are not known.
