Samsung wants to kick paper out of the company, in the name of ecology

The manufacturer is launching a program intended to eradicate paper from its customer services in favor of electronic documents.

Among the resources that can be replaced today by other media that are more respectful of our planet, is paper. For tens of years Man has not cared about the management of his forests and has multiplied the billions of pages without worrying about the consequences.

With the advent of digital, it is now possible to easily replace a large majority of the papers that we use and receive every day. This will be the case, for example, with receipts in France from 2023, which should gradually disappear in favor of digital versions in several brands.

Samsung will also take part in this global effort and has just announced the launch of a new global program which aims to significantly reduce its paper consumption in its customer services around the globe.

Samsung wants to minimize its paper consumption in its offices and avoid waste

Concretely, Samsung will replace paper documentation, but also maintenance reports or receipts in its 11,000 service points, operated by Samsung Electronics in nearly 180 countries by 40 subsidiaries. Technicians will no longer receive documents in physical form, but will be able to access electronic documentation via a platform accessible from a computer or mobile device.

Samsung users will also be affected by this change. Customer support technicians will be able to send them an information sheet or the user manual for their smartphone in an electronic version via a specific network developed by the brand.

But the South Korean manufacturer does not intend to stop there and has the medium-term objective of replacing all the office documents of its repair or customer assistance centers with digital versions.
