Samsung without a chance: Germans love another technology manufacturer

Globally, Samsung ranks first when it comes to popular electronics brands. In Germany, however, the group does not even have a place in the top three. The top positions in this country are occupied by long-established brands.

Brand image: German tech companies ahead of Samsung

YouGov has its annual report on the most popular electronics companies released. Accordingly, Samsung has to be content with fourth place in this country. From a global perspective, things look different for the South Korean group, with Samsung leading the way. The following places also paint a completely different picture in Germany.

According to the new “Consumer Electronics Ranking”, it is about Bosch the most popular electronics brand in Germany. The company took first place with 42.9 points. Miele is in second place, bronze goes to Siemens this year, followed by Samsung. In fifth place is Sony, followed by Philips, AEG (now part of Electrolux from Sweden), the German housewares manufacturer WMF, Braun and the Japanese camera manufacturer Canon.

German brands can also be found in the global top 20. Siemens, Bosch and Miele therefore also have a good image internationally. Siemens made it to fifth place in Denmark and sixth place in Norway (source: YouGov).

Samsung is an incredibly huge corporation, as our video shows:

USA: German tech companies get nothing

German electronics companies still have to work on their image on the American market. There is no local representative in the top 10. Instead, Sony, Samsung and LG occupy the top positions. The US companies HP and Dell follow, then things continue very Japanese with Canon, Nintendo, Panasonic and Nikon. The top 10 is completed by Kodak.
