In a few months, Samsung will present its new high-end smartphone with pen, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. As has now become known, the South Korean company wants to use a brand new camera sensor there for the first time, which the competition is already using. Samsung could still have an advantage.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra expected with 200 MP camera

Samsung has already presented two generations of 200 MP sensors for smartphones, but has not yet installed them itself. Motorola relies on Samsung’s 200 MP camera for the Edge 30 Ultra, and Xiaomi will most likely switch to it soon with the 12T Pro. Samsung is expected to follow suit next year and say goodbye to the 108 MP camera. That Galaxy S23 Ultra will also get the 200 MP camera (Source: Galaxy Club).

It is currently still unclear whether it will be the second generation as we know it now, or whether Samsung might unveil a new generation specifically for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. After all, the 200 MP sensor would then be a bit old. In the end, however, what counts anyway is the software and what you can get out of the sensor with it. And Samsung is working at a very high level there. Accordingly, the expectations of the new top smartphone are high, especially since it would be the first change of the main camera in years.

What else is changing with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra?

According to current rumors, Samsung will install a new processor in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, adjust the design slightly so that the smartphone looks even borderless, and the battery should still have a capacity of 5,000 mAh. It also remains the case that the S Pen is inserted into the housing. Samsung had given up the Note series and integrated it into the Ultra model of the S series. The launch could be a little earlier as Samsung wants to respond faster to Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro.
