Samsung may have a Galaxy Z Fold in the “Ultra” version in its pipeline, but the smartphone may not see the light of day in Europe.
The rumor has been growing since the end of February. In addition to its Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in standard version, Samsung also has a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra in its pipeline. If the German site WinFuture was the first to reveal this information, it is now corroborated by the site Galaxy Clubspecializing in Samsung news.
According to information from the Dutch site, Samsung has indeed planned to launch a Galaxy Z Fold 6 in a “ Ultra », with a technical sheet different from that of the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6. In an article published this Sunday, Galaxy Clubindicates having obtained information regarding this new folding screen smartphone:
We can confirm that Samsung is developing a device with the model number SM-F958. As a reminder, the current Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the SM-946 and the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be the SM-F956. Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is entitled to the number SM-S928. The last number, always a “6» for Fold is a “8» for Ultra models in recent years.
From the model numbers, Galaxy Club therefore concludes that the SM-F958 planned by Samsung this summer would therefore be a folding model, certainly, but available in a “Ultra», Like the Galaxy S23 Ultra or S24 Ultra.
A smartphone that might only be available in Korea
However, there is no indication that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra will launch globally. As statedGalaxy Club, the only current clues suggest a launch of this premium model only in South Korea, but neither in Europe nor in the United States. Indeed, the device’s full model number appears to be “SM-F958N“. However, the “NOT» indicates that this is a device intended for the Korean market.
The Dutch site remains cautious, however, explaining that this does not mean that the model will only be launched in Asia. We will have to wait a few more months to find out more about the range of folding smartphones planned by Samsung.
As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 should be officially presented in a little over three months, at the beginning of July, during a conference organized in Paris. This should also be an opportunity for the firm to present its Galaxy Z Flip 6, its Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Pro watches as well as its Galaxy Ring.
