Not so long ago, all smartphones were delivered with a charger block, in addition to the cable that goes with it. Then, in 2020, Apple decided to no longer provide a charger and wired headphones with iPhones, in a concern for ecology says the brand. Its main competitor, Samsung, does not fail to gently mock, before doing the same thing from the Galaxy S21. The affordable Galaxy A range followed suit a few years later. Today, this seems normal to us, so much so that we forget that there are a whole bunch of different chargers.

As a general rule, we use the last one we had and as long as it works, we’re happy with it without any problem. It is therefore all the more surprising to learn that Samsung reportedly plans to release two new chargers at the same time as the Galaxy S24. As a reminder, high-end smartphones will be presented on January 17for a supposed marketing 13 days later, on the 30th. First of all, let us clarify that no, these possible chargers will not be sold with the Galaxy S24.

Two new chargers would accompany the release of the Galaxy S24

It’s journalist Roland Quandt who spills the beans on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter. The first of the two models announced would carry the reference EP-T5020with the name Samsung Duo Charger. He would have two USB-C ports for charging two devices at the same time. Its power is 50W. The second model would be a update to current 45W modelEP-T4511 instead of EP-T4510.

If the information turns out to be accurate, it would confirm rumors that the Galaxy S24s will not support charging power of 65W or more. Too bad Samsung doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to catch up with the competition at this level.
