As with the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S23 would offer three different cooling systems. The Galaxy S23 in particular would have the least efficient of the three, while it will probably be equipped with the same chip as its colleagues.
With Samsung, the future Plus model for a time a mere larger model than the base one. The more generations advance, the more the Galaxy S Plus tends to become a real move upmarket, with the arrival of a better screen or better charging on the Galaxy S22 Plus for example. This trend would be confirmed with the next Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus.
This is argued in an article by Wccftech who quotes the leaker Alex Conner, still unknown to the battalion, to be taken with a few tweezers. According to him, each Galaxy S23 would have a different temperature management from the others. The Ultra model would obviously be the best equipped, with a vapor chamber, then would come the Galaxy S23 Plus which would only benefit from heat pipe cooling.
The forgotten S23
Surprisingly, the Galaxy S23 for its part, would have no cooling system at all. Wccftech argues that Samsung’s small form factor could rely on graphite sheets as well as the chassis to keep temperatures down.
This news is amazing, given that all three Galaxy S23s are supposed to be equipped with the same chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (including in Europe). Made in 4nm by TSMC, we can assume that it will have good core temperature management. Another hypothesis, Samsung could offer slightly lower performance on the Galaxy S23, compared to its two big brothers, in order to prevent it from turning into a furnace.
Let’s add that last year, for the previous models, the distribution of cooling technologies was also similar and the S22 did a little less well than its two friends. One thing is certain, the philosophy of moving upmarket between the basic model and the Plus model is definitely taking hold. Too bad for those who prefer the smaller models.
