He is not the first Samu de Haute-Garonne boss to get into politics, his predecessor, Jean-Louis Ducassé had chosen in his time to be on the list of Pierre Cohen, then outgoing mayor (PS) of Toulouse . It is also on the left on the regional political scale that
Vincent Bounes will be present in June, alongside Carole Delga. This Tuesday, the socialist president of the Occitanie region indicated that the doctor would be number 2 on her list and doomed to be her “health man” if she is re-elected.

At 45, this son of Tarn winegrowers, who has become one of the familiar faces of the news related to Covid-19, has decided to commit to “getting things done”, without stepping aside and continuing to carry out their professional responsibilities simultaneously. “It’s a project that has a lot of meaning for me, but I will keep my freedom to think,” he warned during a presentation of the “health” proposals of the socialist candidate.

Youth training

And he didn’t come with nothing in his wallet. Among the proposals it brings, that of training for young people in gestures that can save, given during a day of call for first aid. It would be financed via the Youth Card and organized with approved organizations such as the Red Cross.

Carole Delga has indicated that she intends to develop the principle of “My health at 15 minutes”, by supporting structures allowing the installation and the remuneration of 200 doctors or employees in “territories to be medicalized urgently”.
