Samyang has published a mysterious image on social networks to inform us of the upcoming arrival of a new lens from the South Korean manufacturer.
A rival to the Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8?
If Samyang remains mysterious by showing on the image only an AF / MF switch as well as a “Custom” button, the rumors have preceded the manufacturer and we are already talking about a 35-150mm F2-2.8 zoom lens, like Tamron did this a few years ago.
This focal range, although not widespread, is very versatile for everyday use and covers most uses. Both bright and covering a wide focal range, this lens will easily find its place in the wallet of many photographers. At Samyang, it would be the second zoom lens with autofocus.
The e-commerce site e-infin.com also leaked information by publishing its page dedicated to the Samyang AF 35-150mm f/2-2.8 FE. We learn that the lens will be equipped with a VXD linear AF motor, but will not be stabilized. The price has also leaked: 1179 €, which makes it a very fierce competitor for the Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8 Di III VXD.
