When it comes to sandwiches, the toppings sometimes leave a lot to be desired. But with these recipes your next sandwich will be a hit.

Who doesn’t know it: When cooking, things sometimes have to be done quickly, and the food may even have to be eaten on the go. Nothing is better than a sandwich – or if you’re hungry: a tasty sandwich. About the classic However, very few people try new recipes beyond toppings such as ham, cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. You can take your sandwich to a new level without any great cooking skill. Four recipes that will make your next sandwich a taste explosion.

Green Goddess sandwich

Ingredients: Bread slices of your choice (preferably whole grain), 40g goat cheese, handful of sprouts, handful of spinach, six cucumber slices, 1-2 tablespoons of green pesto, a leaf of lettuce, half an avocado, salt, pepper, lemon juice, spices of your choice (e.g. chili flakes)

Preparation: Toast the slices of bread until they are slightly crispy. As a base, spread the goat cheese on one of the two slices with a knife. Spread the green pesto on the other slice of bread.

Then cover one of the two slices with the lettuce, spinach, cucumber slices, avocado (season these with salt, pepper and lemon juice) and sprouts. Finally, season again with pepper and possibly other spices of your choice. Then place the other slice of bread on top and secure the sandwich with skewers or toothpicks if necessary. The Green Goddess Sandwich is ready.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich – vegan

Ingredients: Slices of bread of your choice (preferably whole grain), a clove of garlic, handful of spinach, vegan cream cheese or ricotta, vegan sprinkled cheese, oil

Preparation: First prepare the spread from cream cheese, spinach and garlic. To do this, fry the garlic in a pan over a low heat, then add the spinach. Then mix with the vegan cream cheese or ricotta and season with salt and pepper.

Then lightly fry two slices of bread in oil in a pan. While the slices are frying in the oil, spread a layer of vegan sprinkled cheese on the top side. When the cheese has melted slightly, add the spinach spread and spread over the melted cheese. Then spread more sprinkled cheese on the spread and wait until it has also melted. Finally, place the second slice of bread on top and the vegan grilled cheese sandwich is ready.

Hearty French toast

Ingredients: slices of toast (preferably wholemeal), egg, milk, crème fraîche, diced bacon, spring onion, garlic clove, parmesan, chives, salt, pepper

Preparation: Fry the bacon cubes in a pan until the meat is crispy. Meanwhile, dice the garlic clove, cut the spring onion and chives into rings and add them to the pan with the bacon. Then add crème fraîche and parmesan to taste and season with salt and pepper.

Whisk egg and milk together. Then spread the bacon mixture on the toast slices and cover with another layer of toast. Then soak the sandwiches in the egg and milk mixture. Then fry the sandwiches in the pan until the outer layer is golden brown. The hearty French toast is ready to serve.

Ice Cream Sandwich

Ingredients: Chocolate chip cookies (from the supermarket or homemade), ice cream flavor of your choice, dark chocolate, brittle

Preparation: This dessert sandwich is super quick and easy to prepare. Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath. Meanwhile, place a scoop of ice cream on the flat side of a cookie. Flatten the ice cream with the other cookie so that the whole thing has a kind of sandwich shape.

Then dip the ice cream sandwich into the liquid chocolate and then sprinkle with brittle. Serve the sandwich immediately before the ice cream melts.
