The band Santiano stormed the German charts with their greatest hits album. The quintet took first place for the seventh time.

The German band Santiano celebrated another chart success with their greatest hits album “Die Sehnsucht ist mein Steuermann – Das Beste aus 10 Jahre”. The Nordic quintet can be happy about their seventh number one album in the official German charts, as announced by GfK Entertainment on Friday.

Santiano before cult bands

This puts Santiano’s latest work ahead of the cult group Die Ärzte, who took second place with their reissued 1995 record “Planet Punk”. Bronze goes to the rock band Pink Floyd and their also reissued work “Animals” (1977). The Swiss Vincent Gross (26) follows in fourth place with his new album “Frei”, followed by rapper Luciano (28) with “Majestic”.

If Luciano only made it to number five in the album charts, things are different with the singles. His hit “Bamba”, a collaboration with Aitch feat. BIA, is currently at the top. Silver goes to Nina Chuba (24) and “Wildberry Lillet”. In third place is Sam Smith (30) and Kim Petras (30) with their song “Unholy”. DJ David Guetta (54) and Bebe Rexha (33) take fourth place with “I’m Good (Blue)”, followed by Miksu (34), Macloud (34) and Makko with “Nachts awake”.
