In the morning of France Inter, Sara Forestier spoke about the scourge of domestic violence and the need to talk about it.

In full promotion of her film "Filles de joie", Sara Forestier confided in the morning show of France Inter, on Monday June 22, being inspired by her personal life to play the role of a prostitute victim of conjugal violence.

She thus detailed certain moments in her own history. "What really motivated me is unique and it's true is that, what the character was going through, I was going through in life," said the actress. Living with a toxic companion, who had raised her hand on her, Sara Forestier reveals that she immediately went to the hospital to have her injuries seen. "This allowed me to have evidence to be able to file a complaint against this boy," she said.

Accepting this role for the actress is above all a means of transmitting a message to victims of conjugal, physical or even moral violence: free up words and be heard. In addition, for her, too many stereotypes still persist around women victims of domestic violence. "We think that a woman under control is prostrate, but sometimes we stay with a man for repair, in a fighting posture ”, did she say.

Sara Forestier also stresses the importance of the help that relatives can provide. In her adolescence, she had a close friend, victim of domestic violence, but frankly the actress admits to having been unable to react. "When I was a teenager, I had a friend who was beaten by her husband, and I couldn't react. When that happened to me, I started to have good reflexes. I would have a friend in the same situation, I would take her to do handrails. Because I know it is useful. I would tell her that she can also go to a doctor to make observations. It helps and it saves people, to talk, "she says. "Liberation of speech is also concrete, it allows you to act and it is not something that goes against justice, on the contrary," added Sara Forestier.
